“I’d love to have a boyfriend who has his own thing and isn’t relying on me. I’ve had boyfriends who have really tried to be understanding but I always end up telling people what they need to be doing. I almost need someone to overpower me I think. I’m attracted to the Jack’s and Jamie’s, those men who know exactly what they’re doing. Maybe one day I’ll find one who’s single.”—Alison Mosshart on her personal life. (via thetrousermeddlerx)
“Under the iron bridge we kissed, and although we ended up with sore lips,
it just wasn’t like the old days anymore, no it just wasn’t like those days;
Am I still ill?”—The Smiths Still Ill (via plithith)
Been considered a “hipster” band? I love the group a lot and have both albums, substance, peel sessions, one of their live albums and the warsaw album.
Hearing that it’s a “hipster” is just weird and odd. Granted they are a bit unknown compared to super popular bands like The Beatles or The Clash but I can’t imagine Manchester’s finest band being “hipster”.
I mean I might as well consider The Stooges a “hipster” band cause they’re a fine example of bands not being popular until they broke up.
Or hell New Order, their music could be classified “Hipster”.
It’s a fashion thing isn’t it? Well why not pick Lady Gaga or some other musician that’s fashionable?
I mean it would be lovely if Joy Division had a rebirth in popularity but based on their music, not their fashionable covers or their own sense of clothing at that time. If that was so then a crap load of disco and funk bands should be “Hipster”
